Johanna grew up in a small town just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Her childhood was filled with love from her sometimes an over protective mother. Johanna didn't know her father but often questioned who he was and his whereabouts. When she would ask her mother about him, her questions were ignored or answered with a loving, "I love you enough for both of us." Johanna's mother worked from home completing odd jobs for those in need of help in their local community. She did these small jobs just to be able to keep a close watch over her daughter.
