The Tears Of Apphat: Immortal Beloved

Tears of Apphat is a speculative/fantasy fiction novel with religious overtones; its intended readers are young adults. The tale centres of the life of protagonist, Aldrik (later to be named Azizi), and his ascension to a prophesised role as the protector of his people and of the 'tears of Apphat'. Aldrik understands that he is different, that his 'visions' have alienated him from his community, and that even his father struggles to understand him and his experiences. Since the death of his mother some years prior, Aldrik's only genuine comfort and sense of belonging comes from his godmother, Ai?schah, who is both a healer and somewhat of a seer. Ai?schah understands that Aldrik is destined for greatness and believes that her role is to prepare the young boy for a future that promises both danger and exceptional spiritual fulfilment. So begins a story that spans decades, focuses on spirituality, and culminates in the ultimate love story.
