Kindling Friendships

This is a short story about a couple, Alan and Anne who are newcomers to a small town on the South shore of Nova Scotia. Making friends, and starting over in a new community is proving to be more of a challenge than they expected. Then, Stephen and Jane move in across the street and Anne takes the opportunity to invite them over one night for coffee. The biggest snowstorm in years doesn't stop the evening from happening, but the bad weather is the least of their worries. What was supposed to be a relaxing evening, turns into a night none of them will ever forget. They are all catapulted into a horrific event that leaves everyone changed forever.
