The first book of the Bible, Genesis, is the book of beginnings. It covers about 2500 years from the Creation, through the lives of Adam and Eve, through the great flood of Noah's day, through the lives of the patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to the lives of Jacob's sons who were heads of the Twelve Tribes of Israel.
