On The Bay And A Wild Child Found (Worlds To The Side)

Zoe and Tod have been married for several years, have successful careers, but feel something is missing. Unable to have a child, they try to resolve the problem by going on an unplanned trip. They end up on the Chesapeake bay, joining a half-crazed crabber, whose lover drowned years ago. Abandoned by the Crabber, the couple chances upon what looks like a feral child. This leads to all sorts of complications, including Tod's imprisonment and near drowning, an encounter with a ghost on the bay, and Zoe's near death from a parasitic amoeba. The story ends with an unexpected resolution to their search for a child.
