The Jabez name starts in England in the Burns family line and continues in America and then into the McPherson family line. Most of the men named Jabez have unique stories. Two of the English Jabezes were prominent Temperance ministers. The first Jabez to come to America was an inventor and made a substantial impact in the coffee industry. The Jabezes in the McPherson line were part of the pioneer movement that settled areas of the United States and Canada. They helped establish communities and took an active role in politics and government.
