By the book's end, he learns the destructive power that exists in the seed of even a small lie. The rhyming narrative is interspersed with original drawings. The story begins: A long time ago there was an old man who had a garden as big as Japan, or so he said, for he always told tales. His lies were as long as choo-choo train rails.
