One night, a fracking well explodes a mile away from seven-year-old Bradley Jacobs' home. While the flames blaze in the forest, Bradley watches from his bedroom window as the emergency vehicles come and go. Then, just before he goes to sleep, he sees a group of people sneaking through the trees. The next day, Bradley's mother tells him one of the people responsible for the explosion has been caught, but when his mother shows him the picture of the woman he is more curious than afraid. His mother warns him to be careful since the others are still at large, but Bradley is destined to meet up with the pack of wild women. Whether they are good or bad is unclear to Bradley, as their leader Artemis teaches him that the laws of man fall second to the laws of nature.
