"A Relic of the Pliocene" concerns a "homely, blue-eyed, freckle-faced" hunter named Thomas Stevens and his tracking and eventual killing of a prehistoric mammoth. "A Hyperborean Brew" also concerns Thomas Stevens and his schemes.
