Jesus Doesn't Like Jaywalkers: Part 1

I started writing my memoir on September 14, 2001; I'm not willing to admit to or discuss the catalyst for this. The writing process has not been easy or a quick for me as I am not a prodigious writer, and I've not always remembered the stories in their proper context. Since I learned about the stream of consciousness style used by James Joyce in a Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man, I have liked that approach, and I think that fits my scattered writing style the best. I have tried to rearrange the vignettes in a logical, sequential order, but I have found that doesn't always work as my thoughts are connected more by relational events than by their order of occurrence. This work has been protracted effort to better and perhaps to heal myself. I am not sure if I can explain or even nail down exactly what I want to change about who I am or what is wrong, but I know that I need to make changes. I decided that I had to put my thoughts down with the hope that some deep introspection might help me or inform someone else as to how it is that I became who I am. I have had an odd set of life experiences. Born Jewish, raised as a Christian and sort of runs my life as a believer in God. I have lived without running water, picked oranges for a living and am currently working as a Nuclear Engineer.
