Claire of the Seven Cats

917 years ago, during the crusade, a comet fell from the sky. The impact was so terrible, it opened a portal to hell. It wasn't long before the demonic beings known as Helminth appeared. Like a plague, they hunted and purged humanity wherever they found it. Despite valiant defenses, humanity was forced to retreat. In North America, several of the refugees take comfort in the Washington Empire. To protect themselves, the entire East Coast has been abandoned and deforestation is used to keep an eye out for the enemy. Along what has been called the Abandoned Coast lives a girl known as Claire of the Seven Cats. The daughter of a minor lord, Claire spends her days going on patrol. Things are as peaceful as they can be. While her father is out, taking the fight to the Helminth, Claire keeps the peace at home. That is until one day on patrol, she encounters one of her father's warriors being attacked by the Helminth. As Claire goes to his rescue, she becomes part of an adventure to save the world, once and for all.
