Dr Elizabeth Stewart is a counsellor who suffered a severe traffic accident that left her partly paralysed, in constant pain and needing to use a wheelchair. Christ accepts our offering and joins it to His own suffering on the Cross, and so helps us to share in His redemptive work, whatever our circumstances may be and regardless of whether our pain is physical, emotional, or both. As well as describing her own journey, Dr Stewart uses the examples of St Therese of Lisieux and of Jesus Himself to illustrate how this transformation takes place.
