There are serious moments laced throughout the work, but there are moments of real humor as well and Gaudette's affection for his hunting partners is an abiding theme throughout the entire book. Adventures and Confessions of a Hunter isn't a particularly lengthy work, it doesn't need to be, but is nonetheless packed with a wealth of humanity and descriptive excellence that makes it a volume well worth returning to over and over again.
