Born the youngest son of survivors of the 1915 Armenian Genocide, Jerry Shekerdemian was raised on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus before fleeing to Beirut, Lebanon, and then to London, England and finally to Vancouver, Canada. Throughout decades raising a family and working as a hydraulics engineer, Jerry dreamt of becoming a writer. Whenever he could, he would write, returning to the same subjects again and again-the life of the immigrant, the Armenian culture, and his beloved family.
