Unacceptable Losses : How Easy Access To Firearms Encourages Gun Violence

America experiences too many massacres and needless gun violence. The refrain after each massacre is, "thoughts and prayers" While those sentiments are undeerstandable, what really counts are the actions we take after a tragedy. Congress has shown itself incapable of dealing with the tragedy of firearms. We are the most well-armed nation on Earth. We are the wealthiest nation on Earth. Yet massacres and gun violence continues despite our armaments and our wealth. Alongside the tragedies are the endless deaths that plague our nation every day. In many states, Stand Your Ground laws allow people to take life without punishment. In this way we deny the innocent justice. We need to act to end the violence, to end the massacres, to end the unacceptable loss of life across this nation. The solution is in our hands.
