Each tells, in everyday language, what he saw and the way he reacted. As each contributes evidence for the defense or the prosecution, the familiar story achieves stirring suspense. In an electrifying scene, Mary Magdalene steps down from the stand and reenacts her meeting with Jesus in the garden.
