Into A Rose

Into A Rose is a coming-of-age novel told from the perspective of a dog who is adopted by and befriends a young girl diagnosed with high-functioning autism. As a puppy, Lila is excited when she is adopted by a family but the strange behavior displayed by their oldest child Rosalyn perplexes and slightly disturbs her. Rosalyn is quite unusual; she talks to herself, she looks like she's in pain whenever people touch her, and she spends most of her time in her room. The only one she lets hang around her is Lila and despite her new owner's odd behavior, Lila forms a bond with Rosalyn that could be the key to helping her through her struggle of making friends and being the person Lila believes she is.
