Global warming is caused by greenhouse gases, principally, carbon dioxide, that are emitted when fossil fuels (coal, oil, and natural gas) are burned to obtain energy. Replacing fossil fuels by other sources that do not emit greenhouse gases requires a lot of financial and human resources. Mobilizing the needed resurces requires global peace. The book begins with explaing the gases that cause global warming. The top emitters of greenhouse gases are given. The top 3 are China, followed by the U.S., followed by India. The most serious consequence of global warming is the continuous rise of sea level. Many of the biggest cities of the world are coastal cities. Many of these cities will go under water in this century. All pubished reports indicate that the rise of sea level cannot be stopped. This means that coastal cities and lowlands are doomed. Their inhabitants will have to abandon their homes and move to higher grounds. That would be a catastrphie of the greatest magnitude. Through research, this author discovered that using a portion of the water the rivers of the world discharge into the open seas (all the oceans, seas, and gulfs) to grow 100 billion shade and fruit trees, the rise of sea level can be stopped, or even reversed. The installation of new solar and wind power plants does not offst the rise of energy demand. The solution is to build nuclear power plants on a bid scale. In order to concentrate on fighting global warming, there has to be peace in the world. It is recommended that the UN forms a deflation of world peace. To be most effective, this declaration should be taught in schools to puples grades 4 to7.
