The Hollow Realm was an oasis among the seven realms, a land of restoration, abundance, and peace, but it was also a zealous land guarded by powerful spirits, resilient beasts, and the territorial Hunters. To them and their people, the great wilderness of the forest was a garden to be protected, and they did so without ceasing until the coming of the great Magic War.Spurred by their alliance with the south, the Hunters were mobilized to fight against the magic arts of the Saline Realm, but the oracles, speaking on behalf of their God and Father, spoke against the projection of force and warned of the consequences. They were ignored despite many signs and wonders to accompany them, and the Hunters continued to serve their allies, but after many generations of war, the ominous days of judgment arrived, and they arrived in force.A storm appeared carrying the winds of total destruction, and it tore into the realm with unrivaled fury and unbridled wrath. Many were swept up and burned by the maelstrom, and the land within its path withered and died. Many were sent to investigate the source of the realm's trauma, but only a few managed to return. Those who survived described a Terror too fearsome to behold, and the whole land groaned under the weight of his rage.When the storm finally and suddenly stopped, a full third of the Garden was rendered lifeless, and the people of the Hollow Realm returned to the oracles and set their backs to the outside world. The war ended less than two decades later, and the people lived in relative peace, but the Terror returned not with a storm of violence but with the firm and gentle winds of change.
