Project Pelion describes the climb of Mt. Rainer by a team of people with disabilities as the premier project for the White House to recognize the International Year of The Disabled in 1981. The story chronicles the selection of the team, the training in Aspen and the ascent of Rainier on the 4th of July. The project demonstrates what people can do when they are given the opportunity.
