The Thrill Kings are a group of interdimensional test drivers, busy with the job of repairing rift emergencies across the multiverse. A gargantuan inter-D has come through a bleed portal in the middle of a cornfield. It's peaceful, but will likely rampage when the team tries to send it home. Nonstop, a young member of the rescue team, is asked to get the local farmhouses evacuated. One resident tells him that her neighbor has a lot of foster kids and no way to get them out of the area. Nonstop heads over to the house, but finds no sign of the family, just the heartbreaking corpse of a friendly looking dog. What happened? Where is everybody? And what was that noise upstairs?
