Finding My Dazzle: A Zebra's Journey

As a child who failed to thrive, Andi received a vitamin K injection, and her parents were told to only give her goats milk. Her outcome appeared to improve throughout her childhood and little was thought of her health complications until 60 years later. Andi struggled with illnesses, infections and fibromyalgia throughout her adult life before she was accurately diagnosed. Andi tried to research as much as she could about CVID, only to learn that her condition was complicated, support for adults with CVID over 50 was limited, and while she finally had an accurate diagnosis, the battle was just beginning. Andi made a decision. She was going to continue to pursue her best possible life, empower others to do the same, and work to create awareness and hopefully one day - a cure. Andi's platform is to find a cure for future generations at birth. She does not want another child to go 60 years without a diagnosis. In 2019, St. Jude's announced a possible cure. Andi is hopeful that this will lead to the end of CVID.
