The Pastoral Letters (2000 - 2013)

These are the Pastoral Letters written by Br. Álvaro Rodríguez Echeverria, FSC, Superior General of the De La Salle Christian Brothers from 2000 to 2014.Brother Álvaro was born in San José de Costa Rica on July 8th, 1942. His initial training in the Brothers was at the International Novitiate at Bordighera, close to the frontier with France. Following his novitiate, he studied at the ancient university of Salamanca and continued his studies in Mexico while helping in the Mexico novitiate.For the next 25 years of his life, he worked in Guatemala and Nicaragua as teacher, Director, Auxiliary Visitor and Visitor of the District of Central America, comprising Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama. He was elected Superior General at the end of the General Chapter of 2000 and was reelected at the Chapter of 2007.
