Robert Getham, a former runner from Newark, is searching for a cure to save himself from becoming a mindless zombie in a post-apocalyptic USA. The cure, if it even exists, is in Trenton, 50 miles away, on a path fraught with the same monsters he's trying to avoid Turning into.
