Love in the Air tells the story of two young people caught up in the events of the Second World War--Harry Culley, age 29 as part of the dance and concert bands of the Royal Canadian Air Force, bringing music to the Allied troops and war-torn civilians in the British Isles, and Helen Reeder, age 24, who worked at the federal Department of Munitions and Supply in Ottawa and later at the Toronto Transportation Commission. While apart for two-and-a-half years, they wrote over 600 letters, all of which were bound up and kept safely in an Eaton's box in a closet to be discovered after their deaths. It is rare for both sides of a more than seventy-year correspondence to have survived. Through blending excerpts from the letters, along with historical background and dramatized scenes inspired by the correspondence, their daughter Joanne Culley has brought to life this unique period in world history.--
