Emeralda Inventor Interviews: 31 Days In Fantasy Videos

After seven years deliberating how to invent a new approach to asset management and legacy transfer, artist/professor Bill Ritchie decided a game might be the best way to make a tedious, detailed process feasible. His idea is under an umbrella name, Emeralda: Games for the gifts of life. He set down the game plan and began to model the game play after his personal life experience. Role-play became central to the process of plotting his course of action. In this volume he transcribed the dialogs he had with himself during the month of October, 1998. He pretended to be subjected to thirty-one days of interviews by students on visits to his office. To start, he wrote questions on a piece of paper, left his office and went walking and talking into his portable recorder, asking the questions he had prepared. While the recorder ran, he left suitable time between each recording on the tape?hich was 20-minutes long?or a time, back in his office, when he would answer the questions. Back in his office he had a video camera to record the sessions, which meant playing back the questions on a speaker (off camera) and answering them for the video recorder to complete. His hope in this comical process was that he might chance upon new ideas and thus keep his project alive and perhaps answer real questions about how his concept , being a game for asset management and legacy transfer, would function. The audio tracks for the total of ten hours of taping are transcribed in this series; now, produced as a book, they may yet serve in the successful development of his game, known simply as Emeralda.
