Three Acres: My Life In A Road House

Three Acres is a young boy's coming of age story. At age twelve he is swapped up, along with his two sisters, in his divorced mother's and her lesbian partners plan to go into the restaurant business-having just purchased a road-house in post-World War II California. Against this often chaotic, sometimes humorous, and definitely not the typical American household we are able to follow him as he learns about life in a roadhouse. Through him we becomes acquainted an establishment on US 50 named Three Acres--we learn its virtues and vices and are introduced to denizens who animate it both day and night.
