In Region Training: Travels In Sub-Saharan Africa

A new U.S. Army Foreign Area Officer is assigned the daunting task of becoming an expert in Sub-Saharan Africa. In the course of one year Arnie visited 20 African countries meeting with local officials and working with African militaries while weathering the heat of the Sahara desert, tropical rainstorms, and civil unrest. In his travels he also climbs Kilimanjaro, swims with whale sharks, and gets the bends in Mombasa among many other adventures.
