This City Has No Bounds: A Book Of Short Stories

You hear the stories on the radio, and you see them on TV. Haven't you ever thought, "Hey, that could happen to me!" But even if you try to tell yourself otherwise, you still know that's a lie. You know the minuscule tragedies we witness become less and less real with every news story and headline. Sometimes, they just don't seem real. People can't just die. People can't just go missing. People can't possibly just do these despicable things. The world gets a whole lot grittier when you look at it through clean, pure eyes. The things your parents tell you to never do and the people they tell you to avoid become a lot more apparent. Suddenly, you start to notice the small wrongs instead of the big rights. You start to see the world as it is, just one big plasma-screen TV. When you read these stories, ones I jokingly describe as "great stories with shitty endings," I hope you find something remarkably familiar about them. Something far too familiar, and something all too similar to yourself. As you read this book, you'll live five lives. You'll laugh, and you'll cry. You'll be on the edge of your seat with every less-than-thought-out decision they make, and you might just find these characters aren't all that different from yourself. And you might also find that their endings aren't that different from the ones you already know. The rest is open for your interpretation.
