The things in memory meditated upon were things of society and nature. The things are that society love, nature deems it good, society courts it just or true and society believes it pure or noble. The things were competing in mind whether the things in memory should be thin, same or like. The mind competing for the love of a thin thing, good of a thin thing, justice of a thin thing, truth of a thin thing or purity of a thin thing describes a vivid picture of anticipative life.
