But as the years went by; there would be no Cup. In 2005, a Russian born superstar named Alexander Ovechkin would start his NHL career with the Washington Capitals. He would go on to break record after record. Win trophy after trophy; and yet there was still no Cup; and many of us began to wonder whether they would win a cup, at all. But on Thursday, June 7, 2018 those doubts were laid to rest; and Oh! Yes, the Washington Capitals did raise Lord Stanley.
