{Black & White} Great Circle Study: Turtle Town Marina (Two Boats School)

Course objectives: Learning to read while you learn to tell time. To introduce the basic vocabulary of elementary division with an observation of a circle divided by 1/2s, 1/3s, 1/4s. 1/5s, & 1/6s. There and then we find how our 60-seconds, 60-minutes, and 12-hours on the face of a clock or watch came to be. Dividing the smallest 60-second or 60-minute segment of our original circle again by 1/6s we find our 360-degree compass and the four directions of north, east, south, and west. To introduce compass based navigation. To inspire young people to acquire a thirst for traditional knowledge via a Protractor Triangle, ParaLock Plotter. Parallel Rule, and compass. To begin nautical safety awareness with lifejackets for everyone and finish with compass correction awareness.
