This is collection of poems inspired by the strife and struggles of coming of age in the Bay Area and from the perspective of a multi-cultural (and even cross-cultural) background. The author writes about her struggles with femininity, or lack thereof. There is also a touch about love, and the inevitable loss of love. Hip hop plays a strong influence in her writing, and much of her work is intended as spoken word.
