In closing, I can honestly say I enjoy my time working with all the volunteers and agency staff. I have worked alone in the field most of the time. However, anything I did concerning housing applications was passed off to a coordinator who went out of her way to make sure the paperwork and the information on the unsheltered person was correct. Supervisor and staff who helped in the process, mental health specialists who signed off on paper to complete an application. {unclear} I could never say I did this or that. I always had a group of people who were committed to help unsheltered people and those call shelters their home. Helping someone realize they're important and deserve a safe place to live is important to outreach workers, path? or social workers. Never mind the little people who work for an agency must have some level of empathy to work with people who are between a rock and a hard place.
