Ronald's story begins with the separation from his family in North London as a child evacuee, aged just three years old, at the start of the Second World War. On returning to London after the war he had to get to know his large family of eight brothers and four sisters as well as his parents, who were by now strangers to him. School followed, then national service in the army where he entertained his fellow troops as a singer, guitarist and impersonator. After leaving the army, there were talent competitions and gigs with the musical members of his family's skiffle group. Gigs on his own as a singer and guitarist and with his musician brother Ginger, during the Rock 'n' Roll years. Dance Halls, Theatres, Pubs and Clubs, visiting and performing in and rubbing shoulders with those who made it in the music industry. Ronald's story tells of his reminiscences of his first love music and his life with family and friends. The poverty, fun, laughter, love, marriage and children, loss, tragedy and health scares and a dash of luck. A true and honest account of a Tottenham lad born at the outbreak of the war, growing up and making his way in life in post war Britain.
