Circle of Decision

The room seems massive, almost unending. The further out your vision takes you, the more the floor just evaporates into air. Standing with your back upon any wall, you can barely see the opposite side except for an insignificant glimmer reflecting ever so slightly. Curiously the walls are a tad bit curved. No concrete corners can be distinguished. The almost circular effect pulls your imagination around, through and across the room. With no clear beginning and no certain end, it just exists! It is a recognizable room never the less! The walls close in are fuzzy, almost like static electricity. They stand there an opaque white, almost pearl like. Crazy that the color never changes the closer or farther away you get. They do glisten a tad, leaving you to visualize grandeur. Yet no light or anything similar emulates from it. Nothing at all projects from it. The light that is present is within the walls. The grandeur is transparent, not real. As with a simple black and white picture, the glamour in the plainness becomes evident. The room's color rotates through a series of pastel shades of light. First green, then red; 10 distinct colors in all. No one is startled by the light show. They are however anticipating something more. There must be something greater. The lights stop, and the opaqueness of the walls return. Images are starting to emerge from the wall. They each formed the same rectangular shape, each with its own specific color. As the pattern continues to materialize, it becomes evident these are doors. There are ten different doors; each having a different color. People start to scan the doors in a frantic type of eye movement. They are looking for something. More accurately they are searching for something specific. How could Matthew's normal quiet day end with a torrent of emotions and decisions? Matt was not ready to thrust himself into this position, mentally or physically. Yet here he is. Standing beside strangers he barely knows but all making the greatest decision in their lives and possibly the greatest sacrifice. He had multiple chances to leave this fantasy. He chose to stay and fight for humanity's sake. Now standing in this room his decision will either haunt him or lead him into a new reality.
