Births had already been banned, was this the next phase of their oppressive regime?Following defeat, the children of Megatheia are rounded up and transported away, deceived by the promise of a better life. Ni-Kah, a child soldier who fought on the front line, embarks upon a desperate attempt to flee the ensuing captors, led by the tyrannical Colonel Delinq Zarkan. Anskar sustains a serious head injury when she falls from one of the Empire's buses packed with children. She is rescued and nursed back to health by Ni-Kah but, so traumatic are her injuries, she struggles to recall her past. She joins Ni-Kah along with members of his family and friends in their struggle. Ni-Kah's grandfather, Agar, trained as a test pilot for the ill-fated space programme and works out a plan for their escape which leads them on a perilous journey. Gunfights, infernos and frenzied chases ensue in their battle for survival.
