Jim Franklin, a college instructor, has a run-in with a student after the student misses the final exam. This leads to an armed attack by the student's father, a psychopath. Jim's wife, a lawyer, seems unconcerned. A fellow lawyer, husband of Jim's section secretary, who was also attacked, successfully defends the psychopath, putting him back on the street.
