Cycling through Time' is about second and third chances. Trevor Rogers, a native of Paradise, Oregon, just happens to be one of the few people in the world who has access to a second chance at his past. Trevor's wife, Susan Rogers, a physicist at a Top Secret government facility, works in a highly contained government facility Trevor knows nothing about. Trevor, married to Susan only for a couple years, has always been told Susan worked on an important project having to do with global warming. In a way it is not a lie, but when you get right to the bottom of it, it really was a lie. It was a far fetched story -- that you could use access through a time porthole to stop the planet from heating up. Of course one would expect a government employee to be some what mute about her access to Top Secret materials. After all, she was working on the project when she met Trevor Rogers and fell in love with the guy. She wasn't from Paradise -- she was from all over the United States, but all the places she'd been before were much bigger. She had always liked the hustle bustle of the cities that were always awake and waiting for you whenever you decided to travel.Susan Rogers had not only fallen in love with Trevor, she had fallen in love with the small city of Paradise, Oregon. It wasn't far from the larger city of Eugene, and not all that far from Portland. She may have been a career lady. One might argue that in her field she was among the top minds of the world. But Trevor, a little goofy but kind of joyful, had won her over with his childlike simplicity and his dedication to family. To Susan. When Susan Rogers got news of Trevor's failing heart, she had not yet given him the news that they were to have a baby. The numbers all added up in her head. The numbers didn't look good. Didn't look good at all. By the time their child reached the age of one or two years, the child's father would almost certainly be dead. Susan didn't have to think about it long. Maybe five years earlier she would've accepted her situation and moved on. But she had changed drastically in the wet but welcoming warmth of Paradise, Oregon. She cared more than she ever knew she could. She'd been cut off from contact with the city anyway, working on a Top Secret project that consumed most of her time. Trevor put up with the hours they were apart. Trevor would do anything for Susan. So it didn't take long for Susan to make up her mind. It only took her a couple of weeks to make the arrangements that would allow her to smuggle Trevor in to the Gate. And once she got him there, well, she'd have to work smart and fast.
