The Matilda Man was originally a concept written in part by my mother, the theatrical actress Cynthia Ross, as a screenplay but sadly passed away before she could complete this project.I thank my sister, Laura Player, who kept our mother's writings safe throughout the years and consented for me to complete the task of finishing The Matilda Man as a novel.I thank my dear friend of many years, the renowned journalist and crime writer Janet Fife-Yeomans, for her help in making sure I did not bastardise the Queen's English too much.To my dear friends Barrister Daniel Brezniak, who pushed me along the way to complete the book; the Publican's publican Ron Moss, who took a 'bloody beaut pitcha' of Dobson on the grog; and Rod Ovens, who I drove crazy fixing my computer skills, or rather my lack of them!
