Every year for my birthday, I do something new, unique, daring, and always fun. Turning 70, I had tremendous plans to travel with a bunch of other septuagenarian gals to foreign shores, specifically Greece. I had tried to go there at 40, but through multiple extenuating circumstances, such as the war in Iraq, I didn't go. Around that same time, I was introduced to my future husband shortly before my 40th birthday. So, I changed my plans from going solo to the outer Greek islands in nothing more than a bikini to an unforgettable barefoot cruise with him on the Phantom, a late 1700s Schooner around the Grenadines. So here I was again, Greek Isle deprived. What to do? I woke up, slapped my leg, and said, "I am going to write a book! In addition to satisfying my desire to mark my 70th birthday in a new and more innovative way than ever, it seemed time to commit my story, or the essential highlights, from my heart to paper.After thoroughly enjoying my 60s and entering my 70s feeling vital with more joy and clarity than ever, please don'tthink for a split second it was easy-oh hell no. Therapy, messiness, loveless childhood, failed relationships, a divorce, second marriage, motherhood, body issues, family drama, sibling rivalry insanity, parental care battles, ooh fah, and managing my journey of marriage and raising a beautiful human, my son, Beau Saul-James Lewis.My life purpose is to impact as many women as possible to feel better about themselves regardless of age. I do have an affinity for Millennials and creating gap-bridging conversations. We are the bookends of this time and have exceptional gifts to share. Of course, I can only have personal interactions with so many women. However, I can pave the road via this book and speak on large-audience platforms to share what got me over the hump. To arrive at 70 happy with who I am, vibrant, wise, and joyful, it was incumbent on me to at least share how I did it.
