What readers are saying about Storm Cry:--"The best part about reading something new and unexpected is that it is like a bento box. If done right it can hold many treasures that us readers can savor. The author gives an interesting story with well-structured world building, cleverly done action scenes, and an intriguing plot with much potential. The reader is thrown into this fantasy world not knowing much, giving room for the author to play around with his landscape if done right. Sending images to the reader's mind, allowing them/us to let the imagination play around. Can't lie, one of the hardest things to write is an action scene that keeps the reader's body pumping with adrenaline and one that makes sense grammatically. What I mean by that is the reader can keep up without having to create words of his own to keep with the story. Finally, the story is interesting due to the cluelessness the reader has. We literally know nothing which both kept me interested, but also turned me off. Mentally. I say this in a non-hateful way. What I said before is all true, but every story has its problems. It's great the author wrote a story that throws us right into the frying pan, but that comes with its sacrifices. The story has potential, but it comes off as mediocre. Without much to work with the readers are mostly left confused about whether what is or has happened in the story. Due to this lack of context the readers are basically not allowed to care much for the characters or what happens in the story. I believe if fleshed out further---both characters and story--- the author can write something truly special. Not to bash on the author's hard work, this is simply my opinion. In conclusion, the book Storm Cry is entertaining to an extent. A book with much potential. Not to say it isn't worth reading, the opposite in fact. For me, it was entertaining to imagine my own scenarios in the story. It is also fun to imagine what it can and will be. If anybody interested in fantasy would like to read a short and sweet book, this is it for you. "This is the first book, written by this author, that I've read. And I really like it! I'ts also the first book in a series of four, and I'm looking forward to read the other ones! What I like with this book is both the characters, their names, their dialogues and the overall story. The language in the book is really descriptive and I think it works out well in this way of "storytelling". The dialogues add another dimension to the story, as well as to the characters, and sometimes they make me see things in new perspectives, which is great! I also like how the interaction between the characters seems to be very dynamic and well thought!I am not used to read those kind of books, but to be honest: I'm impressed! And as I wrote in the beginning: I really like it!If I would recommend this book to others? Yes!"A gripping, action-packed short novel about a young shinobi on a quest to face his past and battle the dark forces within himself.A gripping, action-packed short novel about a young shinobi on a quest to face his past and battle the dark forces within himself.
