Donna is a forty-something disabled woman who lives in a small suburban apartment with her alcoholic husband, George. Injuries from an auto accident left her a quadriplegic. Afterward, Donna lost all interest in life. Meeting her counselor marked the turning point in rebuilding her world. Upon discharge from the hospital her counselor suggested that Donna take up writing as a therapy.
