I just read Amaury's novel, entitled "An Amazon Boy Tale," published this year by Oasis&Alambique Publishing Corp... The first thing that comes to mind is the presentation made by our now deceased intellectual G. Alvarez Guedes who synthesizes it in a unique way; here some of his comments: "In addition to romantic, has adventures and even historical data that I did not know. It takes place in Brazil. The characters are certainly from there. When you read it, you imagine that they are real life's things. Which are things that really happened. Amaury takes you to the scene with extraordinary ease." This novel, says Amaury, germinated in the dungeons of one jail, and narrates the true existence of a doctor graduated from the University of Sao Paulo, Wilber, who discovered the antidote of pathological mosquito fever, and his son Larry, who have separated from urban society and lived in the Amazon jungle for 22 years; all they could do was, read books in their primitive life of survival. Wilber's decision to enter the Amazon Jungle with his son was precipitated by impossible desire, the only woman he had loved and that he really valued, even though, he lost her. It is noteworthy that the novel, well written and quick to read, rebases the limits of the imagination, maintaining the expectation throughout a history of civilizing shock and the exuberant beauty of the tropics as a backdrop, which absorbs the attention and interest of the reader.
